RCGRD is a groundwater research center dedicated to the creation and dissemination of knowledge on computer-based technology that is designed to achieve least-cost solutions to contamination problems.
It is housed at the University of Vermont with participation from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

It is made up of teaching faculty, research faculty, research staff, graduate students and visiting scholars. An interdisciplinary program, it has representation from Civil and Environmental Engineering and Mathematical Sciences.

The Center creates and implements computer-based optimal design algorithms to assist the groundwater professional in the design of least-cost strategies for the remediation of contaminated groundwater. All aspects of remediation are considered: discovery, definition, remediation design and monitoring.
